Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. Review and Analysis of Policy and Programmes Relevant to Livelihoods and Climate Change that Support or Hinder Building Resilient Livelihoods of Target Communities of SAKSHAM Project in Sudhurpaschim Province

LI-BIRD is implementing a project entitled ‘Strengthening Capacity of Smallholder Farmers for Resilient Livelihoods (SAKSHAM)’, funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland through FELM Nepal, in Kanchanpur and Doti districts of Sudurpaschim province. The overall goal of the project is to improve livelihoods and well-being of marginal and climate vulnerable families in Kanchanpur and Doti districts through building economic and climate resilience. The project also expects to improve and diversify food and nutrition security and creating income opportunities of target communities together with building climate change adaptation and disaster risk management capacities of local governments, institutions and communities in these two districts.

The project aims to develop a report through an assessment of the existing agriculture, climate change and disaster risk reduction and livelihood related policies and programs of local and provincial governments with analysis of major issues, constraints and recommendations. To this end, the SAKSHAM project announces the proposal from eligible firms and experts to conduct an assessment on major issues regarding the agriculture and livelihood related policies, programs and recommendations to develop an/or improve pro poor, women, People with Disability, conducive local policies and programs for their effective engagement in agriculture and livelihood activities.

LI-BIRD requests to submit a proposal from a qualified Firms or Expert for conducting the assignment. Proposal must be written in English language. Proposal received after the deadline will not be considered for evaluation. Proposal that does not meet the requirements will be rejected. Proposal that meets the requirements and offer the best value for money will be selected.

LI-BIRD reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals, and to cancel the procurement process and reject all the proposals at any time prior to awarding the contract without obligation to inform the bidder(s).
