NEEDS Nepal established in 1999, is a non-for-profit, Non-Government Organization, registered with the Government of Nepal. NEEDS has been implementing Strengthening Community Preparedness, Rapid Response and Recovery Project (SCOP-R3) from 1st December 2020 for 3 years with the support from Oxfam in Nepal. The project focus on disaster risk reduction and resilience. The project aims at building capacity of communities and protecting personal and community assets for better community preparedness, response and recovery in Kanchanpur and Dadeldhura districts.

NEEDS Nepal is looking for eligible service provider for the consultancy:

Consultancy: Develop “Business Continuity Plan of Critical Local Supply System”


The ideal consultant firm for this consultancy service will have to meet the following criteria:

  • PhD/Master’s degree in relevant field including urban and regional planning, local governance, disaster and emergency management. 
  • At least 10 years of experience working in the development cooperation (like UN, IFRC, DPs and others) especially in DRR and Humanitarian support, livelihoods, supply-chain, gender equality, social and economic inclusion. Working experience in multiple countries in developing country context would be an added advantage.
  • Working experience with local governments and local communities in building capacities and finding DRR solutions is required. Familiarity with local priorities and local DRR planning process would be highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in development of DRR and contingency plan, humanitarian response plan, evaluation studies would be required.
  • Working with high ethical standards
  • Firm/Consultants must have a gender-balanced and multidisciplinary team with expertise in human rights, advocacy, GESI, economic empowerment, and research studies. 
  • Good writing skills in Nepali and English languages. 
  • Preference will be given to those, having knowledge of project areas.
