Welthungerhilfe/WHH is one of the largest private aid organizations in Germany with a dual mandate in both development cooperation and humanitarian aid being non-profit making, non-denominational and politically independent. Welthungerhilfe fights against hunger and works together with civil society organizations in the countries where it operates. Welthungerhilfe’s vision is to create a world in which all people can exercise their right to a self-determined life in dignity and justice, free from hunger and poverty. 

WHH has been operational in Nepal since 2012 and has a current programme portfolio in 32 Palikas under four thematic areas: food and nutrition security, right to food and empowerment, disaster risk reduction, and WASH. Our overall goal is to work hand in hand with civil society in Nepal to empower socially marginalized and economically poor citizens to reinforce their resilience and to ensure their right to adequate food and nutrition.

The project focuses on empowering CSOs/networks, economic development, livelihood opportunities, and right to food. Welthungerhilfe seeks the Expression of Interest (EOI) from NGOs with working experience with civil society strengthening, advocacy, gender empowerment, economic opportunity creation, agriculture and nutrition security for a project titled “Empowered Citizens are Promoting Food and Nutrition Governance”, to be implemented in Kapilvastu district, Lumbini Province. Following are the documents to be submitted as part of the EOI:

  1. Cover Letter,
  2. NGO Profile (maximum 4 pages),
  3. Latest annual report,
  4. Registration certificate with a valid renewal up to end of Ashadh 2079. 
  5. Work experience in the sectors mentioned above, 
  6. Certificate of Affiliation with Social Welfare Council,
  7. PAN registration,
  8. Audited accounts of 3 recent fiscal years.

Interested NGOs are requested to submit their EOI to procurement.nepal@welthungerhilfe.de  by Friday, 05 December 2022, 05:00 pm Nepali time with subject line: EOI for project partnership in Kapilvastu district. NGOs from target area is encouraged to apply.
