Job Description

The position holder is responsible to support Advocacy and Campaign team to carry out the activities for implementing SHIFT model to drive campaign on climate justice.

The position holder is expected to plan and carry out the following key tasks:

  • Coordinate with youth networks and child champions for driving the campaign on climate justice
  • Activate SHIFT model with a particular focus on building and maintaining relationships with child and youth activists, groups and networks
  • As a member of Advocacy and Campaign team, work closely with Shift global support team to ‘localise’ Shift workshop activities
  • Support reforestation activity (seek avenues for coordination with Story Cycle, Province 2 government for effective mass plantation, Ncell, Nepal Army and Nepal Scout)
  • Media engagement for campaigning
  • Organize policy dialogues
  • Play an important role in documenting campaign related activities
  • Coordinate for the preparation of COP27
  • Coordinate regular campaign meetings (e.g. weekly) with youth group to ensure that members are working together and assigned roles in line with the campaign plan.
  • Ensure that youth groups are collecting evidence of success and compile into impact film and impact documents.

Key Responsibilities

Coordination with Youth Networks and child champions

  • Facilitate to develop, maintain, update and implement campaign plans of youth networks and child champions
  • Ensure smooth coordination and communication between youth networks and Save the Children

Assist in application of SHIFT Model

  • As a member of Advocacy and Campaign team, work closely with Shift global support team to ‘localise’ Shift workshop activities
  • Activate SHIFT model with a particular focus on building and maintaining relationships with child and youth activists, groups and networks
  • Work with youth group to support them to roll out campaign plan designed by them
  • Manage Shift seed funding on behalf of youth group to produce content for campaign, plan events, engage SCI media team etc.
  • Using standardized Shift impact tools, collect and collate feedback from youth participants through survey and interviews. Use results to develop participant impact of project.

Assist in expanding Campaigns on Climate Justice

  • Capacity building programs for young people from vulnerable and marginalized areas on climate change and environmental degradation.
  • Encourage young people to share their stories on climate change with the broader society and spark inspiration.

Support young people led plantation activity and urban mobility programs

  • Work with young people to drive plantation programs
  • Organize a competition for young people to make Child-Friendly Urban Park in the cities of Nepal

Policy dialogue of young people and policymakers on climate and environment

  • Organize one policy dialogue session between young people and key policymakers on climate and environment

Media engagement and documentation for advocacy and campaigning

  • Design and lead media engagement activities in close collaboration with media and

communications team

  • Lead the documentation of advocacy and campaign related activities


  • Other tasks as requested by the supervisor
  • Support Save the Children Humanitarian responses where appropriate/if needed, ensuring timely and quality responses in line with international standards.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Environment Science, Legal studies, Urban Development, Social Work, Human Rights, Development studies, Sociology, Communication or related discipline (s).
  • 3 years of working experience


  • Passionate to work for climate justice and child rights
  • Has ability to adopt innovation in the program
  • Proficiency in writing technical and programmatic reports that document program directions and results
  • Strong interpersonal communication and coordination skills

Contract length: Fixed Term

Location: Based in Kathmandu, Country Office
