Job Description

Learning Champion Despite Pandemic- Strong Girls II Project (2022-2026) aims to ensure that all children, regardless of caste or gender, have access to quality education. We will work cross-sector to promote the girls friendly and inclusive quality education in schools, develop livelihoods for the families in need, empower the girls from Dalit and marginalized communities through the Dignity Centres.

This project is implemented in partnership with Association for Dalit Women’s Advancement of Nepal (ADWAN), Green Tara Nepal (GTN) and Rural Education and Environment Development Center (REED). Technical and financial support in this project is available from Karuna Deutschland e.V, Karuna Trust and BMZ.

We are looking for experienced and highly qualified Nepali candidates for the following positions. Candidates with proven skills of meeting the requirements and dedicated to work in NGO are encouraged to apply for this position:

1.   Position:  Education Development Officer (under REED Nepal)

Required number: 1

Duty station: Rambha Rural Municipality of Palpa and Kanchan Rural Municipality of Rupandehi

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Master’s Degree in Education having English subject, or relevant field
  • At least Five (5) years of working experience in relevant field (teacher training and  girls’ education Programme )
  • Good knowledge and understanding of education issues related to gender equality in education, including teaching methodologies, non-formal education and community involvement in schools
  • Deep understanding in the challenges of adolescent girls, life skills for decision making and community mobilization
  • Excellent training delivery skills to teachers
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, including exceptional communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office package and internet
  • Experience with project delivery, data collection, data analysis, case story, monitoring including writing both qualitative and quantitative reports.
  • Clear understanding of contemporary development and educational issues
  • Ability to travel to rural areas including overnights during training
  • Proven track record of achieving result.

2.   Position:  Training Officer (under REED Nepal)

Required number:  1

Duty station:  Either Rambha Rural Municipality of Palpa or Kanchan Rural Municipality of Rupandehi

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree in Science,  Education,  or relevant field (Master degree will be preferred)
  • At least Three (3) years of working experience in relevant field (teacher training p, and girls’ education)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of education issues related to gender equality in education, including teaching methodologies, non-formal education and community involvement in schools

3.   Position:  Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) officer (under REED Nepal)

Required number: 1

Duty station:  Project Office Butwal, Rupandehi with frequent field visit

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Science, Education, Management or relevant field
  • At least Three (3 to 4) years of working experience in MEAL or relevant field
  • Familiar with the research ethics, research proposal development, coordination for field work, survey tool development
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, including exceptional communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office package and internet
  • Experience with data collection, data analysis, data presentation, case story, monitoring including writing both qualitative and quantitative reports.
  • Ability to travel to rural areas including overnights during field visit

4.   Position:  Livelihood Officer (under ADWAN)

Required number: 1

Duty station:  Project Office Butwal, Rupandehi with frequent field visit

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in agricultural science from recognized University (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least two years of professional experience in agriculture related project with focus on Climate Smart Agricultural Practices and Resilient Livelihoods.
  • Proficient in report writing and good communication skills desired.
  • Experience and skills in facilitating trainings, meetings and orientations for the rural farmers.
  • Knowledge and experience in community-based disaster risk, response and reduction will be added advantage.
  • Good in English and Nepali language both written and speaking
  • Effective communication and documentation, able to work in a team

Required Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Proficiency Certificate level or equivalent in Agriculture, Economics with work experience in Rural Agriculture, Marketing and business.
  • At least two years’ experience working with agricultural production and rural agribusiness.
  • Demonstrate abilities as a motivator, mobilizer, and good knowledge in written & presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of food security concepts and livelihood programming.
  • Computer skills, particularly internet and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is necessary.
  • Willingness to work in rural areas.
