Job Description

International Nepal Fellowship (Nepal) is Non-Government Organization established in 1952 and serving poor and disadvantaged people of Nepal to enable life in its fullness through health and development service. INF Nepal is currently working in health and community development service in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashim provinces of Nepal.

INF Nepal Green Pasture Hospital (GPH), Pokhara, serving peoples with specialized treatment and rehabilitation services in leprosy, dermatology, spinal cord injuries & other neglected trauma, ear car, palliative care etc. is looking for qualified, skilled, service oriented and committed Nepali citizens who share our vision, missions and values.

1.  Position: Research Officer        Required Number: 2        Location: GPH, Pokhara- 1 & Lamjung- 1

Purpose of the Job: 

Assist in the day-to-day implementation of research projects as part of the research team; help in the design of individual studies; prepare and submit ethics review applications; undertake fieldwork, data collection and management, maintenance and analysis; write reports and peer reviewed articles; support training, education and other project activities.

Required Qualifications, Skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, rural/international development or major in other related subjects.
  • 1 year of minimum research experience in the public health.
  • Experience working with R or other statistical tools is an advantage.
  • Previous work experience in clinical setting is an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, considerate and respectful of others.
  • Ability to read and write in English and Nepali.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft programs.
  • Willing to keep all matters pertaining to patient care confidential.
  • Able to willing to travel.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Compassionate and commitment to serve needy people.

2.  Position: Assistant Project Officer        Required Number: 1        Location: Lamjung

Purpose of the Job:

The assistant project officer, under the supervision of the project coordinator, will collaborate in the design of the model for primary palliative care, and to work with district hospitals, health posts, FCHVs, and other stakeholders. He/she will establish and maintain networks with community groups and schools for developing awareness of palliative care. He/she will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of Sunita Project office in Lamjung.

Required Qualifications, Skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, rural/international development, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in relative field is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, considerate and respectful of others, and committed to teamwork.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Nepali.
  • Appropriate computer skills including Microsoft programs.
  • Willing to keep all matters pertaining to patient information and project data confidential.
  • Able and willing to travel.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.

3.  Position: Research Assistant        Required Number:       Location: GPH , Pokhara

Purpose of the Job:

The research assistant will perform a wide variety of research-related activities for Sunita Project. He/she will assist in the design of individual studies; prepare and submit ethics review applications; collect, maintain and analyse data; write reports and other documentation.

Required Qualifications, Skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, rural/international development or major in other related subjects.
  • 1 year of work experience in research is preferred.
  • Previous work experience in clinical setting is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill, considerate and respectful of others.
  • Ability to read and write in both English/ Nepali.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft programs.
  • Willing to keep all matters pertaining to patient care confidential.
  • Able and willing to travel.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Compassionate to patients and commitment to serve needy people.

4.  Position: ICT Officer                                                  Required Number: 1                                          Location: GPH, Pokhara

Purpose of the Job: 

To be responsible for the effectiveness of Database and Network Systems at Hospitals of INF Nepal   facilitating efficient communication and decision making. This will be achieved through the monitoring of ICT policy compliance, ensuring adequate maintenance of existing systems and researching future implementations of ICT systems for effective hospital administration and management.

Required Qualifications, Skills and knowledge:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT related subject.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in ICT section in same level.
  • Experience in database management is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware and software.
  • Ability to work well with people including expatriates.
  • Ability to quickly establish good working relationships with clients.
  • Must have a logical mind-set for support.
  • Programming skills is an advantage.
  • Enthusiasm for continual learning.
  • Up to date knowledge of the latest IT and software trends.
  • Good support competencies on local Network, VPN, Active Directory.
  • Patience on user support.
  • Able to ensure and demonstrate INF values in work and dealing with others.

5. Position: Leprosy Unit- In-Charge Nurse                          Required Number: 1                                 Location: GPH, Pokhara

Purpose of the Job: 

To provide clinical leadership and management of the Hansen ward, OPD leprosy clinic – environment throughout the 24hour period. To work collaboratively with rehabilitation departments to provide high quality of nursing care to prevent disability and improve quality of life for leprosy affected people.

Required Qualifications, Skills and knowledge:

  • Must have Bachelor’s in Nursing degree with Nepal Nursing Council Registration.
  • Must have minimum 2 years of work experience in relevant nursing care, candidate with a year of experience supervising leprosy In- Patient ward will be an advantage.
  • Maintain report of unit from the on- duty staff nurse and read, sign the report book.
  • Coordinate with other departments for patient care and for smooth running of the unit.
  • Supervise dietary arrangement, serving of diet and feeding of the helpless patient.
  • Assess the total needs of patients and prepare a plan of nursing care.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their family and support group in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Facilitate leprosy training with the rehabilitation team to INF staff and outsiders in leprosy work.
  • Able to demonstrate and actively follow the value of INF in all aspects of work and service.
