The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Telecommunications Technician (IT and Mobile Support Technician). This vacancy is open to all interested applicants.
The work schedule for this position is:

Under the supervision of the Computer Management Specialist, the incumbent serves as the dedicated technician in the specialized area of mobile, virtual and telepresence technology for the mission. The incumbent is responsible for the installation of mobile devices and telework equipment and training of personnel in its use. The incumbent is also responsible for all hardware and software utilities for facilitating mobile and remote connectivity and access
EXPERIENCE: At least three years’ experience in providing technical services and support in the use of mobile, virtual, or telepresence technologies in an enterprise environment is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of mobile device platforms and hardware is required. Knowledge of Windows operating system support and troubleshooting procedures is required. Basic knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) topology, operations and communications is required.
Completion of secondary education is required. Completion of technical training course in the field of information technology such as computer applications, networking or telecommunications technologies is required.

LANGUAGE: Good Working Knowledge speaking/reading/writing English is required. Fluent speaking/reading/writing Nepali is required.

COVID-19 Requirements for Eligible Family Members
As required by Executive Order 14043, Eligible Family Members who will be employed on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Temporary Appointment (TEMP) are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee’s duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law.
