Job Description

The Talent & Network Coordinator is responsible for fostering two key elements of Kamara’s operational relationships for project support: the people and organisations we collaborate with. Namely: identifying, recruiting and maintaining on-going relationships with project-related consultants and specialists as well as coordinating relationships with the network of civil society organisations we collaborate with.

The ideal candidate has a strong existing network within civil society, deriving joy from fostering relationships and matching people/organisations to the right projects, and a genuine belief in the importance of capacity building. The role requires someone with strong coordination and project management skills, recruitment capacities and emotional intelligence.

We believe a well-rounded and balanced team is made up of diverse people that bring different perspectives and experiences to contribute, and we will be looking to this position to continuously implement this as part of the role.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Support programmatic needs through identifying and recruiting consultants/specialists for projects (e.g., researchers, investigators, risk management specialists, project managers, expert consultants)
  • Tracking availabilities of the pool of consultants and maintaining on-going relationships
  • Identifying training and capacity-building support needs, particularly for regionally- based personnel, and researching/recommending actions to be taken
  • Fostering Kamara’s civil society network with relevant organisations, including coordination of collaborations and knowledge-share
  • Remaining up-to-date on relevant remuneration expectations in relation to roles and regions
  • Scope for role to include coordination in relation to strategic actions
  • Scope for the role to expand into covering capacity-building and career paths in relation to in-house positions

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in role(s) requiring strong coordination and administration of multiple simultaneous projects under time/resource pressure
  • Minimum of 2 years working in human rights, environmental or journalism
  • Strong existing personal network in civil society
  • Cultural and gender awareness and sensitivity, experience working with multicultural partners
  • English (spoken and written)

It is preferred that candidates also have**:**

  • Experience in human resources, recruitment or career development
  • Other language skills

Terms

An initial 1 year fixed-term consultancy (subject to standard probation and termination provisions) with the potential to evolve into a full-time permanent position.

We work remotely but meet regularly in London.

Remuneration will be commensurate to level of experience and an indicative range will be given to those shortlisted. The overall range is $USD50-75K per annum equivalent.
