Job Description

Hamro Palo (Our Turn in Nepali) is a non-government organization established in early 2016. Before the registration, Hamro Palo had been running Her Turn workshops in schools in remote and rural villages of Gorkha and Sindhupalchok districts under the fiscal sponsorship of like-minded organizations.


Position: Senior Associate, Conference, and Communications

Station: Kathmandu

Duration: 01 July to 31 August 2022

Reports to: Executive Director (ED)


Since its legal status in 2016, Hamro Palo has expanded its work in various districts of Nepal working in close partnership with government schools and communities. Till May 2022, around 8000 adolescent girls and 2000 adolescent boys have graduated from our flagship programs – Her Turn and His Chance Education and Empowerment Program. We have been delivering youth-based programs in the rural communities including mentorship programs and Annual conferences highlighting Girl-led leadership.

Scope of Work

Reporting to ED, Senior Associate, Conference and Communications will lead Hamro Palo’s upcoming conferences celebrating adolescent girls’ leadership and women’s political leadership. She will be leading all the communications leading the conferences. She will work closely with Executive Director, program delivery team, partners, and other relevant stakeholders ensuring all designed activities are implemented within the deadline to achieve the set outcome.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire process of two conferences celebrating adolescent girls’ leadership and women in political leadership.
  • Develop and design conference content and activities.
  • Develop work plans to ensure timely implementation of activities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with potential guests, participants, and speakers.
  • Organize meetings with various individuals and organizations.
  • Handle social media in the run-up to the conferences.
  • Plan the logistics of all conference-related operations, such as venue, accommodation, transportation, equipment etc.
  • Train and guide volunteers associated with the conference.
  • Prepare detailed reports about the events.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree completed.
  • Strong proven experience in organizing and managing conferences for Non-for-profit organizations.
  • Strong understanding of girls’ education, women’s rights and political leadership, and recent local government election.
  • Strong organizational and networking skills.
  • Strong language command over both Nepali and English and communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Able to guide young college-going students as team members.
