Job Description

Progress Inc. is a private company which specializes in research, monitoring and evaluations, assessments, capacity building and other data management for public, private and non-profit sectors in the social development sector. The organization works in various sectors including gender and inclusion, education, governance, livelihood, DRR, WASH, and more.

Position Title: Research Intern

Working Hours: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM (6 days a week)

Term: 2-3 months contract (The right candidate(s) will have the possibility of promotion to full-time Research Assistant position after successful performance review. We are looking for someone who is seeking beyond a simple internship certification)

Internship Stipend: NPR 10,000 – 13,500 per month and additional incentives for field work

Job Description

  • Conduct assigned research roles provided by supervisor
  • Liaise with other team members for purpose of work
  • Able to handle multiple projects/roles as assigned
  • Support in project proposals
  • Conduct desk review, literature review and other backend study as required by supervisor
  • Conduct data collection through field visit for projects
  • Support in qualitative and quantitative instruments, survey, questionnaire, etc.
  • Prepare field notes/report writing

Required Qualification & Experience

Qualification & Experience

  • Prior data collection or research experience will be given preference, including those with mobile based data collection experience
  • Bachelors complete or Master’s complete in the field of Social Science, Journalism, Development Studies or other related.
  • Good understanding of data collection
  • Some knowledge of statistical data analysis packages – SPSS, STATA or other similar
  • Will have to travel to rural areas of Nepal with basic amenities (Those who are not open to short field travel for work purpose or scared of districts outside Kathmandu valley: Do not apply)
  • Able to work with very minimal supervision and contribute to the mission of the company
