CRS Nepal started its operational presence in Nepal in response to the 2015 earthquake with emergency support, reaching over 23,000 households in with shelter, livelihoods and community infrastructure ensuring accountability to beneficiaries through a robust feedback mechanism.
CRS Nepal has been coordinating the reconstruction through leadership of the Housing Recovery and Reconstruction Platform (HRRP) since 2017 in collaboration with National Reconstruction Authority and implementing partners. HRRP advises, monitors, and documents the housing reconstruction process.
In 2021, CRS-Nepal expanded its earthquake recovery and resilience programming to additional earthquake affected districts to support the most vulnerable households through Resilient Communities through Vulnerable Earthquake Recovery (ReCoVER) Program, a 3-year multisectoral recovery project (Jan 2021 – Dec 2023) that supports families affected by the 2015 earthquake.
