Overview:

Quarter Master Pokhara ensure all management of QM matters. This department plays a role in the day-to-day operation of the Camp and during Gurkha recruitment. It is responsible to provide porter services to official trekkers, recruiting phases and maintain hygiene throughout the BGP premises. The job will entail storekeeping work as well.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage, control Porters, allocate them to BGN/UK Official Trekkers and prepare duty roster during recruiting phases liaising with Ops Mgr.
  • Maintenance of Trek / Adventure Training / PRI Stores that includes issue and receipt of kits to / from Duty Directed Trekkers/individuals.
  • Organize porters’ cadre biennially to recruit new porters.
  • Hold, maintain account, and manage cleaning materials store under COPF Cleaning Allowance and issue of cleaning items to various departments as required.
  • Assist Line Manager whenever required.

Required Qualification & Experience

Success Profile:

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in understanding their duties and be familiar with all relevant Health and Safety.   They will also have knowledge and experience of technical storekeeping.  Should be competent to use Ms Office Packages and Email/Internet and have good communication skills in both English and Nepali. Be physically fit and capable to undertake arduous work.   Candidates with matching the above experience and qualifications are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility:

  • Internal candidates: SZ1 for promotion SZ2/E2 for level transfer.
  • External candidates: Nepali Citizen between 18 to 58 years meeting the above requirements.

Benefits & Working Environment:

  • Salary 53,077.00 NPR per month, weekly working hours – 40hrs (Full Time, Shift system, Permanent).
  • Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.
  • Dashain Bonus & Retirement Funds (EPF & CIT).
  • Annual leave 25 days and public holidays 10 days.
  • 100% reimbursement of Medical expenses for Job Holder and limited reimbursement for immediate dependants.
