Job Description

While there are a number of After Care Services providing a safe haven and a variety of resources for many survivors of abuse, trafficking, and potential exploitative situations in Nepal, Mukti After Care Project exists to meet a more specific need of the survivors. In partnership with rescue agencies and the Nepal government, the project provides individualized holistic care plans for reintegration including trauma counseling, remedial education, job training, legal aid, and medical care. We take survivors with complicated legal cases, safety concerns, and needs for in-depth trauma care who might otherwise not find suitable placement.

Job Description 

The Operations Manager will work with the Executive committee and oversee the management of the project. The manager will work together with the team of after care specialists to coordinate and specialize each child’s care within the project according to their unique needs.

Responsibilities 

  • Build an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to subordinate managers and their teams; and provide strategic leadership to the organization.
  • Build and maintain relations of trust with shareholders, partners and external government authorities including the NCRC, SWC, and all related local and national law enforcement units.
  • Oversee daily activities and administrative efforts of the project including the adherence to the financial budget and reporting standards, employee scheduling and management, record keeping, legal guidelines for the after care home and NGO, etc.
  • Act as the public relations representative of the project when needed to strengthen its profile, representing the vision, mission, and beliefs of the organization.
  • Guide remedial efforts with identified issues or crisis situations using crisis management and de-escalation techniques
  • Ensure quarterly and annual plans and reports are prepared for donor, board and government authorities.
  • Implement the six trauma-informed principles of safety, trustworthiness and transparency, peer support, collaboration, empowerment, voice and choice, awareness of cultural and gender-based issues throughout every aspect of the organization. Use these principles as a guide when creating policies, implementing programs, and defining outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.
  • Be a role model to the survivors in our care; showing unconditional respect and maintaining appropriate interactions with survivors.
  • Participate in weekly supervision, team care planning meetings, and training sessions.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Care and interactions founded in the trauma-informed principles; safety, trustworthiness and transparency, peer support, collaboration, empowerment, voice and choice, awareness of cultural and gender-based issues.
  • Experience working with clients that are affected by issues including neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, trafficking, and parental substance abuse preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills with knowledge of written and spoken English and Nepali.
  • Working knowledge of Google platforms such as Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gmail.
