The Ministry of Health and Population is scaling up people-centered NCD services through expansion of Package of Essential Noncommunicable (PEN) Diseases for early detection and management of NCD with a strong focus on primary health care and improving care pathways to ensure provision of people-centered, comprehensive, integrated and equitable care. The WHO Country Office is expected to provide strong technical support in development and integration of the technical packages and standardized protocols for common NCDs which covers cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs), diabetes, cancer, chronic kidney disease, rheumatic heart disease, sickle cell disease and palliative care in primary health care practices. The WHO country office will support NCD service delivery aligning with the basic health service package to achieve country’s UHC commitments and alleviate the health service disruptions due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The specific objective of the SSA contract is to support the technical and coordination at the WHO country office and provide hands on support adaptation, adoption and integration of NCD care delivery.
Description of Duties:
Under the overall guidance of the WHO Representative and the direct supervision of the Team Lead (NCD and Mental Health), the incumbent will perform the following specific tasks till December 2021:
Education:
Essential: Masters level Degree in any of the following: Internal Medicine, Community Medicine, MD General Practice
Desirable: Masters in Public Health
Experience:
Essential: At least 5 years of combined experience in teaching, clinical practice, and some of which is in design and delivery of public health care system with focus on NCDs.
Desirable: Implementation research on NCDs and health systems with focus on primary health care services will be an asset.

Monthly Salary: (Net of tax) NPR 196,102.00. at single rate (taxable as per Nepal Government laws and appointment will be through Special Services Agreement (SSA)
