Context:
The project entitled “Effective case management by strengthening Isolation centres and Ground Crossing Points (GCPs) management for Rapid Response and Preparedness against COVID-19” intends to implement a twofold COVID-19 response to address the gaps and needs identified through the assessment. With a major focus on the migrants crossing the borders and priority to population facing additional vulnerabilities including women, children, elderly and persons with disabilities, the project aims to strengthen the capacities of six GCPs and isolation centres through supporting the Governments of Province 1, 2, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim. Coupled with the physical risk of COVID-19, it is identified that the migrants carry multiple psychological stress and vulnerabilities. As such, the project envisages to support the Government in their ongoing interventions at the targeted areas with the provision of health response support, strengthened WASH capacity and ensuring the protection (including psychosocial first aid) of the migrants to further capacitate the government response for combating COVID-19. Moreover, Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) will be implemented for flow monitoring including at informal GCPs, which would be instrumental in attaining readily available COVID-19 and other humanitarian needs information for better-targeted, multi-sectoral assistance to at-risk populations in need.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the National Program Officer, and, in collaboration with relevant units at the country office, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for managing and supporting the administrative and financial portion for the health related components for the “Effective case management by strengthening Isolation centres and Ground Crossing Points (GCPs) management for Rapid Response and Preparedness against COVID-19. In coordination with the program unit the selected candidate will be responsible to support directly and indirectly to the overall project intervention of the project.
