Job Description

Human Practice Foundation (HPF), Nepal is implementing an education project in Taplejung, Nepal. The main purpose of this project is to increase both academic, life skills, interpersonal skills as well as mental and physical health of the school students.  This is a school-based intervention model viewing the student with holistic approach with acknowledgements thereby facilitating the development of student’s cognitive, emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs. The possible areas of intervention could be reflecting life experiences, physical exercise and benefits, core muscle exercise, the risk involved in a sexual relationship, early marriage, self-defense, sexual harassment, and gender based violence, success protection of nature and environment, meditation, yoga etc. HPF invites application from highly motivated, skilled, dynamic and result oriented Nepali Citizen of the following posts to be based in our Project Office, Taplejung as an employee of our partner organization, Nepal Development Society.

1.  Position: Life Orientation Officer

2.  Required Number: 1

3.  Duty Station: Phungling, Taplejung with frequent visits to the project schools. This project covers a total of 53 schools of which 9 are located in Dhankuta district.

4.  Job scope: 

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in social science or as appropriate. Persons with health background with required competency will be given preference.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the areas highlighted under the project background above. It also includes facilitating parents to commit for improved behavior change to improve their health status.
  •  2 years’ experience in relevant field.
  • Good knowledge of computer (Word, Excel, Power Point, email)
  • Good knowledge on speaking English, typing in English and Nepali.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet set deadlines.
  • Maintain work ethics and confidentiality.
  • Positive attitude with good team player.

6.  Specific Roles to be performed:

  • Develop training/counseling packages and provide training to the teachers.
  • Facilitate teachers to cascade the imparted knowledge to the students in project schools.
  • Monitor the changes brought by the intervention in the area.
  • Reporting of the project status and progress to Life Skills Coordinator.
  • Perform other tasks as asked by Life Skills Coordinator.
