Job Description

Here’s where you come in:

As Infrastructure Officer, you will be responsible to provide technical leadership across all districts of respective field offices, and to lead the implementation of infrastructure related activities in coordination with field sectoral leads and partners, and ensure the project’s annual KPIs and targets related to infrastructure are achieved. The Infrastructure Officer (IO) should have experience in designing and implementing rural community infrastructure through contractor and community approach. This position provides regular technical input to partner infrastructure officers and supports in smooth field implementation with partner organizations. The key components of this project that need to be managed by IO are construction of school blocks, toilets, water systems, outreach center and cash for work schemes.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Must have knowledge and skills of construction project implementation.
  • Ability to work in different target groups and changing environments.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Technical Knowledge to do construction activities field survey, design, drawing & estimation.
  • Technical Knowledge to do and check vulnerability assessment of structures.
  • Ability to ensure specification of construction materials & ensuring the quality of construction works.
  • Strong analytical problem solving techniques.
  • Work under pressure and can take additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to drive motorbike with valid driving license.
  • Experience with contractor construction approaches.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years’ or Diploma in Civil Engineering with 5 years of experience in building construction works and disaster resilient infrastructures
  • Familiarity with contractor construction processes and community construction approaches.
  • Experience in managing larger number of construction sites (institutional building construction) through contractor.
  • 80% travel to project sites of districts.
