The International Organization for Migration (IOM) - a related organization of the United Nations - is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration. It works to meet the growing operational challenges of migration, advance understanding of migration issues, encourage social and economic development through migration and uphold the well-being and human rights of migrants.
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Nepal, in close coordination with the Senior Regional Resources Management Officer (SRRMO) for Asia and the Pacific based in Bangkok, Thailand and in close coordination with relevant Units at Headquarters (HQ) and Administrative Centres in Manila and Panama, the incumbent will be accountable and responsible for managing, monitoring and administering the financial, budget, treasury, human resources, procurement/logistics and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) activities in the Country Office (CO) and its sub-offices.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
External applicants for all positions in the Professional category are required to be proficient in
English and have at least a working knowledge of one additional UN Language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Chinese).
For all applicants, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Fluency in Nepalese language is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
