Job Description

With the objective to grow and develop the largest seller base and the largest selection of top quality and competitive products, Daraz relies on state of the art technology and innovation to acquire, educate and grow its sellers base and manage their assortment. This team is comprised of the seller acquisition team, the seller education and engagement team, the seller compliance and communication team as well as the Catalog Management team responsible for strong product content including photo shoots. This position reports to the Managing Director of Daraz Nepal.

Local teams in each country will have to be developed and given the fast development of new technologies and initiatives, there is a need for central project management of the roadmaps. The Head of Marketplace Manager will based in Kathmandu.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver the seller insights, seller acquisition, seller education, seller growth and seller retention programs necessary to power Daraz seller base growth in Nepal
  • Deliver the seller compliance and seller management programs to enforce Daraz customer protection policy
  • Deliver the required programs to ensure sustainable assortment growth both in quantity, quality and price competitiveness
  • Derive succinct findings, develop strategic insights, and persuasively communicate those findings and perspectives from stakeholder engagements to Product and Business teams to drive growth
  • Support the Managing Director in developing and managing roadmaps to drive healthy assortment growth
  • Ensure efficient sharing of knowledge and best practices across the group
  • Streamlining processes, procedures, KPIs and reporting across the group
  • Build strong relationships with the local teams and work closely with each country
  • Manage implementation of the new product features and work on improved automation

  • Five days working week (Monday to Friday)

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Masters in Management or Engineering
  • Ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of complex global businesses
  • Strong knowledge in project management and teamwork
  • 5+ years of work experience in management consulting, technology industry, or other leading commercial roles functions (e-commerce experience preferred but not required)
  • Entrepreneurship mindset, results oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills
  • Growth ambitions to help Daraz create long lasting disruptions across various industries
  • You know how to manage priorities and work with short deadlines
  • Highly adaptable to quickly changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to drive and manage cross-functional teams and cross-cultural stakeholders
