Job Description

World Education works with disadvantaged communities and vulnerable population seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of a Grants Officer.

The Grants Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Finance / Subgrants Officers.  This will be a Kathmandu based position.

Major responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing pre-award assessments for PNGOs and searching Visual Compliance to meet donor and WEI requirements
  • Assist in preparation of budgets for sub-grantee and preparing the agreements
  • Interact regularly with partner organizations to facilitate financial reporting
  • Reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reports and documents of all PNGOs.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reports and documents of all NGO partner organizations to ensure donor compliance requirements are met
  • Maintain project tracking system of budget vs expenditures for all NGO partners and project agreements, as well as reporting dates for all PNGOs and donors
  • Assist in preparing payment vouchers for PNGOs
  • Assist in monthly preparation and presentation of Budget vs Expenditures of all projects to program staff
  • Maintain financial documents, agreements and records of all NGO partners
  • Maintain original copies of contract agreements and MOUs with donors
  • Update official files on Google drive as required
  • Coordinate the receipt, acknowledgement and tracking of grant applications and the assignment of these applications.
  • Providing financial support to the senior management and the Finance business partners.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management or related field with minimum five years of work experience
  • Good spoken and written skill in both English and Nepali
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of institutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office computer programs, especially MS Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with USG and UN regulations preferred
