Job Description

Social Impact is seeking multiple Field Researchers to collect data for the evaluation team in Sudurpaschim and Lumbini Provinces. Each Field Researcher will be expected to conduct virtual and/or in-person data collection and support analysis as requested depending on local COVID-19 guidelines. This is a part-time consulting position taking place from July to December 2021.


  • Meet with the SI evaluation team at the designated sites at the times communicated by the Team Leader.
  • Review the evaluation work plan, data collection tools, and other relevant documents as instructed in order to become familiar with the Sajhedari – STF Activity and the purpose of the evaluation.
  • Support SI in conducting data collection during fieldwork, including notetaking and team debriefs.
  • Contribute to preliminary data analysis and note synthesis as required. Data will be in the form of qualitative notes and transcripts, quantitative data, and relevant secondary data reports.

Required Qualification & Experience

Qualification & Experience

  • Master’s degree or equivalent with at least three years of research, evaluation, or assessment-focused field experience working in the development or humanitarian sector with a focus on human rights.
  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection including key informant interviews (KIIs), focus group discussions (FGDs), surveys, etc.
  • Oral and written fluency in English and Nepali. Additional fluency is required in at least one language spoken in Sudurpaschim or Lumbini province, such as Tharu, Awadhi, Doteli, Bhojpuri, etc.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
