Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC) is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization working for the protection and promotion of human rights. Established in 1991, WOREC is one of the leading national organizations that works to prevent violence against women, its causes and consequences, and ensures the economic, social, and cultural well-being of women and other marginalized groups by promoting their access to rights and social justice. WOREC started working with an objective to prevent trafficking in women and children and advocate for the rights of survivors, whereas in the course of work, with the realization that trafficking is one among various other outcomes of women’s rights violations, WOREC started to work from the broader perspective for women’s right. Being an organization guided by feminist values, WOREC believes that empowering women to control their bodies, sexuality, and reproduction is a key to enabling women to exercise their rights.
