Job Description

FHI 360 has been working in Nepal since 1993 in the areas of HIV/AIDS, family planning/reproductive health, nutrition, antimicrobial resistance, environment, capacity building, civil society and media strengthening, and governance reform. FHI 360’s work is grounded in evidence and aligns with and provides support to the Government of Nepal (GoN)’s development priorities and plans.

FHI 360 Nepal requests applications from interested and qualified individuals for a short-term assignment under the guidance of the Family Welfare Division (FWD) to develop Family Planning/Maternal and Newborn Health (FP/MNH) orientation packages for provincial and municipal level program managers and service providers to enhance public private partnership (PPP) under MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery (MPHD) Nepal project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Consultant

Key responsibilities:

Desk review of PPP documents, FP/MNH related policy documents and guidelines available at the federal and provincial including Decision-Making Tool (DMT) endorsed by the GoN, and other relevant documents as
Conduct consultation meetings with the FP/MNH stakeholders and FWD mainly work in close coordination with FP/MNH Section
Carry out field visits to Karnali and Madhesh provinces, meet program managers and service providers to understand the gap and needs related to FP/MNH programs related with
Draft orientation packages for program managers and service providers at province and municipal
Conduct and pretest the draft orientation packages, collect feedback, and modify the packages following the outcomes of the
Submit the final orientation packages both for program manager and service providers to to FWD.

Required Qualification & Experience

Master’s degree in public health or related social sciences with two to three years’ experience in relevant field.
Previous work experience of developing training manuals or orientation/ training packages in a lead or co-lead
Previous work experience in designing and conducting effective training programs and ability to develop and deliver training materials to individuals and
Good understanding of the national FP/RH program including role of private sectors and policy/regulatory
Experience of working with various divisions and departments under the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in developing program curriculum, standards, and policies, including reviewing of policy documents is
Good understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal level health system and possibility of integrating public private partnership in FP/RH
Proficient in both verbal and written English and Nepali however, fluency in written Nepali language is preferred
