Job Description

Crown Agents is seeking a Chief of Party for the anticipated five-year USAID/Public Financial Management Fiscal Federalism Activity in Nepal.

Project Description

The purpose of this project is to support public financial management (PFM) reform at the provincial and local levels of government in Nepal.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, overall project management, and quality assurance oversight.
  • Serve as primary liaison between Crown Agents and USAID/Nepal, the Government of Nepal (GoN), and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure productive working relationships between private and public entities.
  • Identify, assess, and fill technical gaps in close coordination with partner country officials.
  • Supervise expatriate and local short-term experts, with particular focus on ensuring completion of tasks andachievement of objectives.
  • Advise senior-level partner-country officials and stakeholders on project implementation.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Public Administration, International Development, or related field required.
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience
  • USAID Chief of Party experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in public financial management or governance in Nepal or a similar economic/political environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated success and understanding in working across cultural differences and the political and ethical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and mobilize a team of direct and indirect reports.
  • Prior work experience in Nepal preferred.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Nepali a plus.
